Jon Chaffee serves as the 28’s Assistant Coach and brings a strong blend of playing experience and nearly a decade of coaching expertise to the Samurai program, where he has been coaching for the past four years.

Chaffee began his lacrosse career at Fox High School, competing as a midfielder and attackman, before continuing at Missouri Baptist University as a midfielder and faceoff specialist. During his collegiate career, he earned 2nd Team All-Conference honors and competed in the NAIA National Tournament in both 2016 and 2017. Following graduation, he transitioned into semi-professional box lacrosse, playing as a forward for the River City Blue Cats and the Missouri Mastodons. He was part of the Mastodons team that captured the 2021 GPBLL Harvest Classic Championship.

In addition to his role with Samurai, Chaffee has nine years of coaching experience at the high school level. He served as the Varsity Offensive Coordinator at Summit High School from 2017 to 2024 and currently holds the same position at St. John Vianney, where he continues to develop high-performing offenses and mentor student-athletes.

As a coach, Chaffee emphasizes effort, attitude, and leading by example—core values he instills in every player he works with. His approach focuses on building not only skilled athletes but also disciplined and accountable young men.

Outside of lacrosse, Chaffee enjoys rock climbing, snowboarding, and camping.
