BIOgraphy

Bryce Cheek, a native of Waxhaw, North Carolina, joins Samurai in his first year bringing a strong competitive background and passion for player development. Bryce was a three-year varsity starting goalie in high school, where he helped lead his team to two state championships and served as a team captain.

He continued his career at the NCAA Division I level, playing at the University of Utah, where he contributed to the team’s run to the ASUN Conference Finals. During his time there, Bryce earned recognition as a UofU Student-Athlete of the Month and was honored with the UofU Athletics Senior Award.

Bryce’s playing career is highlighted by impressive accolades, including being a two-time Brine All-American, a two-time NCHSAA State Champion, and an ASUN Conference Finalist.

Transitioning into coaching, Bryce previously served as the Goalie Coach for the University of Utah men’s lacrosse team at the MCLA level, where he focused on developing fundamentals, game awareness, and confidence in his players.

As a coach, Bryce emphasizes playing the game for the love of it, believing that passion naturally drives hard work, consistency, and long-term success.

Outside of lacrosse, Bryce enjoys singing in his church choir, cooking, and cheering on the Carolina Panthers. He also holds a degree in Electrical Engineering.
